Yoga & Daily Living
What is your go-to yogic teaching “off the mat”?
Personally, a few valuable virtues come to mind—patience, acceptance, or the simple act of giving of oneself. These sound beautiful in theory, yet a real challenge to implement when things get rough. It takes practice to cultivate the highest version of ourselves.
Yoga, at its heart, is not something we do in isolation
But rather, something we live in ongoing.
Formal practice is something like a sterile laboratory where we can purify the vessel, connect with our higher instincts and renew. Meanwhile, waves of other responsibilities await outside of our Shangrala. Daily life, however, is the true curriculum, complete with unexpected tests and assignments.
It’s about to get real 🙂.
Which teaching arises most naturally for you in the flow of life, and which ones feel like they are asking more of you? Can you compress these teachings down to two words? For example: “Patience” or “Compassion”.
Then carry these with you as a self-reflective talisman for a set period of time.
